Proposal ideas in Miami Beach

Miami Beach is the glamorous end of our map: pastel Art Deco, turquoise water and a skyline across the bay. It photographs beautifully in almost any light.

It also has some of the strictest beach rules around, which is one reason we only ever use real flowers.

Best spots

Where to propose in Miami Beach

  1. 01

    South Pointe Park and Pier

The southern tip of the island, with green lawns, a long pier and ships gliding through the channel. It is one of the best places in Miami Beach to watch the evening sky, and a favorite for proposals.

  2. 02

    Lummus Park and Ocean Drive

Classic Miami Beach, with colorful lifeguard towers and Art Deco behind you. Busy during the day, softer in the early evening.

  3. 03

    Miami Beach Botanical Garden

A peaceful garden in the middle of the city with ponds and tropical plants. A good choice for a quieter setup away from the sand, arranged with the garden.

  4. 04

    Bayside sunsets

The west side of the island faces Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Waterfront spots near Sunset Harbour have a true sunset over the water.

  5. 05

    North Beach

Quieter beaches and dunes on the north end of the city, with more space and fewer people than South Beach.

Sunset timing

When the light is best

The ocean side faces east, so the sun sets behind the city while the sky over the water turns soft. On the bay side, the sun goes down over the water and the Miami skyline lights up across the bay.

We usually plan the moment 30 to 45 minutes before sunset. You get warm light for photos and time to enjoy the setup as the sky changes.

Parking

Getting there

  • Street parking and city garages are paid, often by app. South Beach weekend evenings are busy and rates can be higher on event nights.
  • Near South Pointe there are paid lots and garages a short walk away.
  • For many couples a ride share drop-off is simplest.

Permits and rules

What we handle

Miami Beach has strict rules for its beaches. Synthetic petals and plastic decor are banned, and organized setups and commercial photography can need city approval. We only use real flowers and handle any permits. Fees are billed at cost.

Rules change. We confirm the current requirements for your exact spot before your date.

Local tips

  • Real flowers only, always. It is the rule on Miami Beach beaches and our standard everywhere.
  • Glass and alcohol rules on the sand are strict here. Expect sparkling cider at a beach setup and champagne after, somewhere it is allowed.
  • Avoid major event weekends if you want a calmer beach.
