Because Biscayne Bay sits to the east of the mainland and Key Biscayne sits across it, you can choose between sunrise over the bay and a sunset behind the skyline.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Formal gardens and a historic villa on Biscayne Bay. One of the most romantic settings in the city. Photography sessions need advance arrangements with Vizcaya, which we handle.

Key Biscayne and the Rickenbacker Causeway
From the causeway and Key Biscayne you look back across the water at the Miami skyline as the sun sets behind it. Crandon Park and Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park offer beaches and a historic lighthouse.

Brickell Key
A small island next to downtown with a waterfront path and views of the bay and skyline. Easy to reach and lovely in the evening.

Coconut Grove
Leafy and laid back, with bayfront parks and marinas. Great for a sunset walk followed by dinner nearby.

When the light is best
From the mainland, the bay faces east, so evening light glows on the water and Key Biscayne. Cross to Key Biscayne or the causeway and you get the sun setting behind the skyline, which is a favorite for proposal photos.
We usually plan the moment 30 to 45 minutes before sunset. You get warm light for photos and time to enjoy the setup as the sky changes.
